     Sw. n[aum]ktergal, Dan. nattergal. See Night, and Yell.]
     1. (Zool.) A small, plain, brown and gray European song bird
        ({Luscinia megarhynchos syn. Luscinia luscinia). It
        sings at night, and is celebrated for the sweetness of its
        song.
